As part of our new partnership with Wigan MBC, we’re looking for care homes in the Wigan area who would like to develop Community Circle in their home to help in delivering personalised care.
We’re coming to Wigan
Are you a care home manager or owner in Wigan who would like to…
- …discover new ways to support people in your home to stay active and be connected to their community?
- …be able to help people to decide upon and achieve their personal outcomes, reflecting what really matters to them?
- …do this in a way that is efficient, effective and harnesses people’s own relationship networks?
If so, we would like to invite you to learn more about how Community Circles are growing in Wigan, with support from Wigan MBC; and to hear about how you could get involved.
About Community Circles in care homes
Community Circles support people to be happier, healthier and more connected with the help of those around them. We do this through an innovative, step-by-step process; led by a volunteer facilitator who we train and mentor. They are a way to activate people’s personal relationship networks and help them to achieve their personal outcomes in a way that’s both practical and achievable for residential care homes.
Recently, The Guardian Social Care Network named Community Circles as one of their ‘six Innovations that could build a new social care system’; and we’re thrilled to be working with Wigan MBC to be growing our approach at scale.
Join us at a launch event
On the 5th and 8th of June we are hosting two launch events for interested care homes in Wigan.
EachStep Blackburn, the last care home we worked with, was named Best Dementia Care Home at the National Dementia Awards and were able to show a measurable increase in people’s wellbeing levels. We’re really excited to find new care home partners and will be inviting expressions of interest on the day.
As well as introducing Community Circles and inviting expressions of interest in partnering with us, we will be working with attendees to complete a live self-assessment using the ‘Progress for Providers’ tool. This will enable attendees to understand where they are currently in relation to personalisation best practice, and identify next steps for improvement; including where Community Circles might be able to support.
If you’d like to find out more about how Community Circles could work with your care home, please register for one of our launch events by emailing email@example.com.
